This policy explains what Computeruse (a sole proprietorship registered in Hong Kong, "we") collects when you use Clerk, why, how long we keep it, and who else sees it.
The one thing to know first: screenshots are uploaded to our servers.
The agent captures your screen at every step. Those screenshots are (1) sent to model providers so the next action can be decided, and (2) uploaded as JPEGs and stored on our servers as part of your history, so you can pick up a conversation on another device. A screenshot captures everything on screen at that moment — passwords visible in other windows, private documents, chat logs, and information belonging to other people. Close or minimise anything you would rather not have recorded before you start the agent.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | Identifying your account, verification codes, password resets, service notices |
| Password (stored salted and hashed with scrypt; we cannot read it) | Signing in |
| Conversation history (your instructions, the agent's replies and actions) | Syncing your history across devices |
| Screenshots | Letting the model see the screen to decide an action; kept so you can look back |
| Usage records (time, model, token counts, amounts) | Billing, balance, investigating problems |
| IP address | Abuse limits (rate limits on signup, trials and resets) |
| Device identifier (a random ID generated on your machine) | Limiting the anonymous trial to one per device |
| Voice input audio, voice output text | Only when you use voice features, for transcription and speech |
We do not collect: your keystrokes (beyond what a screenshot shows), the contents of your files (unless they appear in a screenshot or you ask the agent to read them), your contacts, or your location. We do not serve ads, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Top-ups are handled by Stripe. Your card number, expiry date and CVC never pass through our servers and we cannot see them. All we receive from Stripe is a notice that a payment succeeded, which we use to add credit.
| Provider | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Anthropic | Your instructions, conversation context and screenshots, to generate model responses |
| OpenAI | The same, when you choose an OpenAI model; and for voice, audio to transcribe and text to speak |
| OpenRouter (and, through it, Alibaba Cloud) | Your instructions, conversation context and screenshots, when you choose a Qwen model |
| Stripe | Payment details, submitted directly from your browser |
| Resend | Your email address and message content (verification and reset codes) |
| DigitalOcean, Cloudflare | Server hosting and network delivery |
Beyond the above, we disclose data only where the law requires it. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.
Our servers are in Singapore. Model and payment providers may process data in other jurisdictions, including the United States and, for Qwen models, Singapore. Using the Service means you understand and accept that transfer.
Under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) you have the right to access and correct your personal data. You can also ask us at any time to delete your account along with its conversation history and screenshots. Email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. Note: deleting an account also voids any unused credit — if you want a refund, claim it under the Refund Policy first.
Everything is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored salted and hashed with scrypt. Access keys and verification codes are stored hashed, never in plain text. We work to protect your data, but no system can promise perfect security.
When this policy is updated the date at the top of the page changes. We will email you about significant changes to how data is used.
